We all knew this game was coming awhile ago when the NFL announced the Chiefs would be traveling to London, England, for the first time. Kansas City has the misfortune of this contest counting as a home game, so this is added pressure to get the victory.

The Lions had a tough offseason. Star defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh walked to join the Miami Dolphins via an $118 million contract, while Nick Fairley surprisingly took a one-year deal with the St. Louis Rams. Detroit did trade for Haloti Ngata, sending a couple of third-day draft picks to the Baltimore Ravens. Still, it is a net loss for a Lions team that is hoping to make its second consecutive playoff appearance.

The last time these two teams played, the Chiefs were absolutely humiliated at Ford Field, 48-3. The contest is sadly remembered for Jamaal Charles tearing his ACL in the first quarter, losing the majority of his 2011 season. Hopefully things go better this time around.
