Per Spotrac and CBS Sports’ Joel Corry, Maclin signed a five-year, $55 million deal with $22 million guaranteed ($12 million signing bonus).

The most significant categories—at least, from an outsider’s perspective—are “cap hit” and “dead money.” In order to find out how much the Chiefs would gain/lose by severing ties with the wideout in any particular year, that season’s dead money is subtracted from the cap hit.
