Knock yourselves out, half-dozen GMs.
Jason Avant, WR
I’ve always been a fan of Jason Avant. At this point in his career, he’s not quite as spry as he used to be, but he embodies every favorable football trope (“workout warrior,” “student of the game,” etc.) in existence.
He’s a sharp route-runner with some of the most trustworthy hands in the league, and there may not be a receiver walking earth who’s more familiar with Reid’s offense.
Kurt Coleman, S
I know everyone’s infatuated with Coleman, and he exceeded my expectations too. But he’s too slow to play single-high safety, and the Chiefs already have a handful of safeties (Eric Berry, Sanders Commings, Tyvon Branch, Husain Abdullah) on the roster.
However, Berry’s situation remains up in the air, and due to injury, Commings only played three snaps in his first two seasons.
Coleman also finished 2014 as PFF’s No. 3 special-teamer, so don’t be surprised if talks heat up throughout the week.
