Prior to last week’s game versus San Francisco, Mark Davis, per Tim Kawakami of the San Jose Mercury News, approached Jim Harbaugh and quipped, “You stole our dysfunction,” adding, “That’s supposed to be our thing!”
Because nothing screams charm like instability.
Honestly, I don’t think the idea of Harbaugh coaching Oakland is crazy. He’s a Terminator-like Sunday sociopath whose wife, per The Washington Post, doesn’t want to leave the Bay Area—perfect match.
But can any self-respecting person answer to Mark Davis? That’s the million-dollar question.
Oakland’s owner looks like the lovechild of Lloyd Christmas and a 1992 JCPenney catalogue. I’m pro-self-expression, but nobody should rock a bowl cut, turtleneck or white skinny jeans after (or before) Y2K; he rocks all three. Proudly. Like a broke Donald Trump.
For all of his faults, Al Davis did a lot of good, especially in regards to racial progress. I can respect that.
But Mark Davis? He’s just…there.
