The Last Reason To Panic…

The Chiefs Were Under Prepared and Overwhelmed By A Mediocre Team

Man oh man what a way to start the season. No one, and I mean no one, thought the game would turn out the way it did.

The Chiefs looked like they were transported back to a time of Scott Pioli and Todd Haley as they were outplayed in every aspect of the game. To make matters worse, players the Chiefs let go or cut played better than the team as a whole. I mean Ryan Succop alone outscored the entire Kansas City Chiefs Team.

Now while no team loses on their own or on the shoulders of one individual Andy Reid said he will take all the blame on this loss. Yes Reid’s play calling was questionable and the defense while it shined at moments was still taking apart by Titans quarterback Jake Locker. The Chiefs just plan old stunk and it was very much time to panic after watching that game.

Again this was the first game of the year and teams either get better or get worse. This was THE first game and not a time to start freaking out. Andy Reid will get better in preparing for his team. He knows that he needs to get the ball into the hands of his playmakers and will do so for the next game.

As for the losses on defense there is no way to make up for the fact that Derrick Johnson is gone and Mike DeVito. However teams try to prepare for this situations and the Chiefs have players who can step up when called, and now they will step up, or this defense will be lost for 2014.

Well there you go panicked Chiefs fans. You can either take the loss Sunday as a reason to fear 2014, or take it one game at a time, which is what most coaches tell their squads. Just one game at a time. The season is far from over and 2014 is a long year to count this team out just yet.
