Chiefs Offseason: Land Of A Thousand Dances
By Laddie Morse

How does newly acquired DE Vance Walker change what the defense can do on passing downs better than when Tyson Jackson was around?
Vance Walker can get a push into the backfield. That alone makes the Chiefs better starting on opening day. There was a precarious balance that other teams had to strike when protecting against the Chiefs defense… when the Chiefs were at full strength in 2013. Figuring out who would double Justin Houston or Tamba Hali and then having to deal with Dontari Poe up the middle… teams were overwhelmed at times. The only offensive scheme that seemed to work was running short routes and getting the ball out of the QBs hands quickly. That’s why the Broncos did well against the Chiefs. However, if you throw even one more pass rusher into the mix, it tips the scales. That’s why I was so excited by the Vance Walker signing and if the Chiefs come up with any other players who can pressure the QB or stretch the coverage longer… other teams are going to be in Big Trouble in Little China (sorry for the obscure reference).
Ladies and Gentlemen, meet Vance Walker.
