I know some people have said that they would like to see Belcher’s position upgraded, but there is absolutely no reason not to re-sign Belcher. He has proven himself a solid NFL starter. If nothing else, he has great chemistry with Derrick Johnson and his willingness to take on fullbacks and offensive linemen often give DJ the space he needs to make plays. Even if Belcher were to get unseated as the starter, he would provide great depth and has plenty of special teams experience as well.
