With the Jets coming to Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday the Chiefs face a big test.

While the New York Jets aren’t the class of the AFC they are a good team and should be in playoff contention come January. After playing a Houston Texans team that they should have beat the Chiefs need to show the NFL what kind of team they really are.

On Friday’s show we discussed how Kansas City can get a quick start and we discussed Alex Smith with John Pollard

Kansas City has a chance to have a statement type game at home. They could then really make noise in Pittsburgh with a win. The Chiefs have to find a way to start quickly and get the Jets out of their game plan early. The Jets defensive line will not be easy to run on and will give the Chiefs offensive line fits if they aren’t fully prepared.

Chiefs Offense Must Start Quickly

Kansas City’s offense has to focus on getting the ball out quick on passing plays. They must also find effective running plays to get the ground attack going. The Jets defensive is the strength of their team but they are not without weaknesses. Smith can also use his legs to escape pressure and change the pass rush the Jets will send after him so he can pick up first downs.

Smith should be looking for Kelce early and often in this game. The Jets linebackers and corners will not be able to match up with him and the Chiefs need to take advantage. If the Jets double Kelce then the Chiefs need to be sure to attack Revis. He has given up big plays in each game. Running the ball with Ware and West should help open up the passing game. Throwing to them should help stretch out the defense as the Jets will have to pick up RB’s out of the backfield.
