Running Scared

AUTHOR: jeremyhanson | IN: Chiefs | COMMENTS: 10 Comments

“Momentum and belief are critically important to every team, but especially those with a new head coach or a new starter at the all-important quarterback position. Belief and momentum are also somewhat reciprocal in that the momentum created by consecutive wins can foster an even greater belief in what the new coach is selling or the new quarterback is doing.”   Ross Tucker at cnnsi.com
In my opinion, nothing in sports is more important than “The Big Mo”. We have all seen it a thousand times. Something happens in a game that switches the momentum and more importantly the belief that the [...]

Are The Chiefs Talent Challenged?

AUTHOR: jeremyhanson | IN: Chiefs | COMMENTS: 4 Comments

An interesting article from Curt Popejoy over at draftboardinsider.com:
“Ok, now is the time in the article where I talk about the new head coach, Todd Haley, his playcalling, the coordinators, the ownership and all that other “stuff”. But I’m not going to. Ya know why? Because the players on this team aren’t very good. It’s really that simple. There are by my count 9 starters on both sides of the football for KC, that wouldn’t start for the vast majority of teams in the NFL. When 40% of your starters couldn’t win starting jobs anywhere else, it’s not about coaching [...]

Dwayne Bowe Will Be Questionable Again

AUTHOR: jeremyhanson | IN: Chiefs | COMMENTS: None Yet

Per rotoworld.com:
“Chiefs coach Todd Haley did not sound optimistic about the chances of Dwayne Bowe (hamstring) facing the Giants in Week 4.
“Anytime you’re talking about a hamstring, especially with a skill position, you’ve got to err on the side of caution because those things can end up being a long-term thing,” Haley said. Mark Bradley and Bobby Wade would start if Bowe can’t go. Bowe will likely be “limited” all week in practice, then “questionable” on Friday.”

Chiefs Work Out RT Mark Tauscher

AUTHOR: jeremyhanson | IN: Chiefs | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Per profootballtalk.com:
“the Chiefs tried out former Packers right tackle Mark Tauscher Tuesday.
Drafted in 2000 by Green Bay, Tauscher has been recovering from ACL surgery.
The Packers wouldn’t rule out re-signing Tauscher over the summer, but they haven’t publicly expressed interest in him recently despite their struggles on the offensive line.”
Is he next?

KC Makes 5 More Moves

AUTHOR: jeremyhanson | IN: Chiefs | COMMENTS: 13 Comments

In our continuing search for the “right 53″:
Per Josh Looney:
“The Chiefs kicked off “Transaction Tuesday” by trading QB Tyler Thigpen to the Dolphins for an undisclosed draft pick. Kansas City recently announced five more moves in addition to the Thigpen trade.
Kansas City announced that they have released CB Ricardo Colcough and LB Monty Beisel from the 53-man roster, as well as TE Tom Crabtree from the practice squad.
Signed to the 53-man roster was free agent TE Leonard Pope, and added to the practice squad was T Chris Patrick. Like many of the newest Chiefs, Pope has a working history with [...]

Another KC Chiefs Streak About to Fall

AUTHOR: Randy5k-Arrowhead Adventurer | IN: Chiefs | COMMENTS: 4 Comments

Addicts, like my man Jeremy, this losing hurts worse than previous years. I think its because I felt that real change was in the air.
As many of you know I have been to ever single preseason and regular season game since the beginning of the 2007 season and a couple of away games.
I was able to move my seats to the field level this 2009 season, with unanticipated challenges.
Despite our dismal start, many of my game tickets can be sold for double their face value and more.  Its still a great time and worth the money to take a date, [...]
