Uh, get your weeks straight there, ESPN. An occasional typo is cool, but having the Chiefs play the wrong team in both the story headline and the headline on the NFL front page? Not to mention saying that we play at San Diego? Even Emmitt Smith and Jemele Hill would be embarrassed by all that. Was the fact checker drunk? The editor?
We played the Raiders last week. We play the Chargers this week. At Arrowhead. Which is in Kansas City. Got it?

Brodie Croyle will not play this Sunday against the Chargers. Brodie hurt his back in last week’s game, and the Chiefs were waiting to see if he would be able to play this weekend. The Chiefs have decided that he will be unable to go because of a bruised back. Damon Huard will get the start. Here we go again…
Chiefs quarterback Brodie Croyle will be sidelined with a bruised back Sunday at San Diego and will be replaced by veteran backup Damon Huard.
Croyle, who had started the last two games, could not practice Friday, coach Herm Edwards said.
The second-year pro, [...]

10 Reasons Why Being a Chiefs Fan is Cooler Than Being a Chargers Fan:
10. It took arguably the best player in the NFL — LaDainian Tomlinson — for the Chargers to formally join the realigned AFC West.
9. If there was a fantasy draft for NFL coaches, I’m 100% positive Herm Edwards wouldn’t go first. I’m also 100 % Norv “Frumpy Pants” Turner would go last.
8. A.J. Smith traded a second-round pick for Chris Chambers? Say what?
7. I’d have to go to a local Jack in the Box to find someone in San Diego who’s been fired more times than defensive [...]

While there are many things that have gone wrong this season (and many to blame for the downfall), the biggest disappointment seems to be the playcalling, especially on 3rd down. Often times, we see calls during these points of the game that are not only questionable, but utterly unbelievable. I evaluated each game this afternoon (while I was supposed to be studying) and found some pretty interesting things that seem to happen on a regular basis:
Some observations:
As you can see, we’re 1-for-15 on 3rd down plays with 5 or more yards to go. 3rd and 5 seems like a very [...]

The Chargers have benched starting right tackle Shane Olivea in favor of Kansas State product Jeromey Clary…
Shane Olivea, who has started all but two games at right offensive tackle since San Diego chose him in the seventh round of the 2004 draft, has been benched for Sunday’s game against Kansas City.
Jeromey Clary, a second-year veteran who has played in 11 games and started only one, will replace Olivea in the lineup.
It seems that the Chargers are already making adjustments with hopes that they will do a better job against the Chiefs’ front seven this time around.

Brodie Croyle missed practice yesterday with a sore back and might not be able to go this Sunday against the Chargers. If Croyle is unable to go then Damon Huard will get another chance to start. This is most likely a precautionary measure and I think we will see Brodie on Sunday.
“He’s sore, pretty sore,” said Chiefs coach Herm Edwards. “We’ll see tomorrow where he’s at, if can go. Tomorrow we’ll find out. We’ll wait as long as we can.”
“Oh, yeah,” Edwards said. “He fought through it and played. That’s the kind of kid he is. He’s tough. He’s [...]

The people over at HBO recently caught up with our old buddy X-Factor over a weekend. Check out this clip, and be sure to keep an eye out for X on HBO’s Inside the NFL. We gotta give it up to the super hero of all Chiefs fans. HBO? $8 M for charity? Keep doing it big, Ty. I don’t care if you do wear underwear outside your pants like Superman — you’re still the man when it comes to Chiefs fans and NFL superfans, always will be.
