Update: Worthy was able to make his way back in the second half for the Chiefs.

The Kansas City Chiefs have lost wide receiver Xavier Worthy to an ankle injury late in the second quarter against the Houston Texans in Week 16.

Worthy came up limping for the Chiefs' offense shortly before halftime in a close game against the Houston Texans and made his way toward the sidelines.

Worthy was deemed questionable to return for the Chiefs heading into the half.

On the day, Worthy has caught 4 of 5 targets against the Texans for 26 yards in the first half. He also has two carries for 3 yards as the Chiefs clint to a 17-10 lead.

The nature of the injury is gong to be an interesting one for the Chiefs to handle. Worthy is a vital component in the team's passing offense as a vertical field-stretcher. That said, the Chiefs are also scheduled to play in just four more days against the Pittsburgh Steelers on the road on Christmas Day, so the Chiefs might decide to rest Worthy for the rest of this game and the next in order to preserve him for the postseason.

The good news for the Chiefs is that Marquise "Hollywood" Brown is back after suffering a shoulder injury during the team's preseason. Brown's speed is a plus asset for the Chiefs, especially if Worthy is lost for any length of time.

Coming into Week 16, Worthy had 44 catches for 494 yards and 4 touchdowns on the season.
