Sean Payton’s Bo Nix hype is already making Chiefs fans roll their eyes

Sean Payton certainly loves to talk.

Sean Payton might have something special brewing with his young QB, Bo Nix, but he's definitely going a bit overboard with his recent comments. Denver does seem to be trending in the right direction with Nix, Payton, and the rest of what they have built thus far.

It took the Kansas City Chiefs until the final play of the game back in Week 10 to fend off the hungry Broncos in Arrowhead, and without most of their starters in Week 18, Denver did what we all expected. While most Chiefs' fans are high on this team winning the AFC West for the 10th year in a row, you can't help but wonder if the Broncos could challenge them.

And if you ask Sean Payton, the team's third-year head coach, he seems to think so:

Sean Payton thinks Bo Nix is going to become a superstar at the position

Sean Payton is not afraid to speak his mind, as you can clearly see. “I honestly think he’s gonna be one of the top quarterbacks within the next two years,” Payton said. “I think he’s going to be a superstar," said Payton.

I guess you can't fault Payton for speaking his mind? One thing he's good at is doing just that, and it surely rubs people the wrong way. Chiefs' fans may read these comments and think Sean Payton is just being arrogant and cocky, and they might be right.

Nix has only played 17 games in the NFL and is still not necessarily a proven franchise QB. Many would agree that he and the Denver Broncos need to progress a bit in 2025 to be taken truly seriously, but Payton and the team clearly don't want to hear that.

The Kansas City Chiefs have another great shot at capturing the AFC West title, but they aren't going to be able to walk all over the Denver Broncos anymore, especially if Payton is correct and Nix ends up becoming a superstar QB.
