This time last year, the Kansas City Chiefs were preparing to play in Super Bowl LVIII and were hoping to win their third title in five years, something they ended up being able to check off their list. Rashee Rice was a rookie at that time and went on to catch six catches for 39 yards in the eventual overtime win.

Chiefs fans were looking forward to seeing Rice grow as a receiver during his sophomore season in 2024 but unfortunately, he suffered a knee injury in Week 4 and missed the rest of the year. He looked to be on his way to a stellar season before that injury, tallying 288 yards and two touchdowns in 3.5 games but just like that, Rice was done for the year and K.C. ended up bringing in DeAndre Hopkins to help out the wide receiver room.

Andy Reid gave Chiefs fans an update about Rice during Super Bowl media week and it's a positive one. Reid noted that Rice is doing well. "[Rice is] healing up good, which is positive for next year."

Chiefs fans will love recent Rashee Rice update

The Chiefs will have some decisions to make about the wide receiver position in 2025, as Hopkins and Hollywood Brown are both slated to be free agents. Xavier Worthy will be entering just his second year in the league so pairing him with a healthy Rice will be a lot of fun for Chiefs fans to watch.

Having Rice back will be a huge boost to the offense and it means that K.C. doesn't have to break the bank going after other names on the free-agent market. They can potentially bring back Brown (maybe even Hopkins, who knows?) and then spend a draft pick on a receiver if they want to round out the position group.

For the first time since Tyreek Hill was traded, wide receiver might be a strength for the Chiefs. That's dangerous to the other 31 teams hoping to win a Super Bowl anytime soon.
