Chiefs vs Eagles: Writers pick and predictions for Week 11's showdown
By Jacob Milham
If there is any game Kansas City Chiefs fans have had circled on their calendar, it is the Super Bowl LVII rematch against the Philadelphia Eagles. The two teams had a thrilling shootout in Arizona in February. Now, the two teams remain on top of their respective conferences and match up this time in Arrowhead Stadium.
These two teams have deep connections, especially on the coaching front. When Andy Reid served as Philadelphia's head coach, he never lost to the Kansas City Chiefs. Now, as Kanas City's head coach, he has not lost to his former team in the two previous games. Vegas currently agrees with Reid winning his third straight over the Eagles, with Kanas City holding a slim lead in the betting odds all week.
Whether it is the on-field product, betting odds, or anything else Chiefs-related, the Arrowhead Addict team has you covered. Let's get each writer's pick and prediction for Sunday's rainy rematch.

Andy Reid typically holds the advantage coming off a bye, but the Philadelphia Eagles are also coming off a bye, in addition to holding the motivation card in this contest. Fresh off a Super Bowl 57 loss, the Eagles will pull out all the stops to beat the reigning world champions. While all of that is true, I expect this to be a low-scoring affair between two stout defenses and offenses that have not shown a whole lot this season. This is anybody's ball game but due to the advantage of Arrowhead, I have Kansas City squeaking this one out.

After the Chiefs' huge win over the Miami Dolphins the Philadelphia Eagles bring a whole different challenge to the field. The Phins are elusive, explosive, and dynamic and the Eagles are brash, physical, and aggressive. This game is going to come down to two things. Can the Chiefs' offensive line hold up against 4 pass rushers? And can the Chiefs' defense make the Eagles pass their way up and down the field? If the Chiefs can hold up in protection the Philly secondary can be taken advantage of. But if the Eagles can run the ball effectively good luck trying to stop AJ Brown and Devonta Smith...

The Chiefs are feeling confident after a morale-boosting win over the Dolphins in Germany and will carry this momentum into an MNF showdown against the Eagles. With talks of the Chiefs offense sputtering and not playing up to their previous highs, Patrick Mahomes and Co. are going to light it up in Arrowhead. Expect a shootout with a game-winner from Harrison Butker to end it.

The defense has nothing left to prove after such a strong first half, and the offense deserves the benefit of the doubt that they can course correct (even in small doses) coming out of the bye. Andy Reid has never lost to the Eagles since arriving in K.C. and that includes a game when everything was on the line.

Monday night is the Kelce Family reunion game, and it’s one of the most hyped games of the 2023 season. The last time these two teams met in the Super Bowl, the Eagles put up 35 points against the Chiefs' defense. Look for this Chiefs' defense to step up and show why this defense is different. Chiefs win with a last-second interception to stifle an Eagles-tying touchdown.

The Chiefs went abroad, won, and I still have less confidence in their offense. I am looking forward to Kansas City proving me wrong, but the Chiefs needed several things to break their way against the Dolphins. Between the Eagles run game, pass rush, and special teams edge, there are several ways the Chiefs can lose this week.

I had mixed feelings about this game early. I went back and forth between 'Chiefs in a tight one' and 'Eagles in a blowout'. The combination of firepower and grit that Philly's offense sports is daunting, to say the least, but when you sit back and think about how Kansas City's defense has performed thus far in 2023 and couple that with the fact that Trent McDuffie said earlier this week that the K.C. defense was "disappointed" with their performance in what was a Super Bowl win, you have to think they're going to come out with a point to prove. I like the Chiefs in this one coming off the bye and reintroducing themselves as what everyone else is striving to be in this league.

Back from the bye week, the Chiefs are slated for a Super Bowl LVII rematch with the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night. Both teams are atop their respective conferences and looking to maintain their lead on the field. In some ways, these two teams are polar opposites. The Chiefs are led by one of the league's premier defenses, while the Eagles *are elite offensively. Andy Reid is a magician with extra time to prepare and has yet to lose to his former team since becoming the head coach in Kansas City. Look for the offense to have its best performance in a while. MVPat should resurface against one of the league's worst pass defenses.

One stat we're surely going to see a lot of this week is Andy Reid's record after a bye week. While it's true that the Chiefs are exceptional after a week off, that advantage will be somewhat negated in this game as the Eagles are also coming off their bye. In addition, although I do believe the offense will figure it out, I'm not sure it will be on Monday night. It's also very possible that Reid holds a few plays back with a Super Bowl rematch potentially on the horizon. The defense will keep them in it, but the Eagles will win.

The Chiefs are incredible off the bye during Andy Reid’s tenure. I have a feeling that we are headed for a classic showcase of Mahomes' greatness on a last-minute touchdown drive for the win.
