2nd round (63) - McKinnley Jackson, DL, Texas A&M

Prospect profile: McKinnley Jackson is a big body along the defensive interior who was an instant asset on the field for the Aggies, one who made the SEC's All-Freshman team. From there, McKinnley has grown into a team captain and locker room leader who sets the tone up front as a versatile interior lineman who commands consistent double teams. He'd be a hotter prospect without his injury history but bottom of the second round is a solid grab for K.C.

Production in 2023: So far through five games, Jackson has 9 tackles, including 3 for a loss, and 1.5 sacks.

Positional fit: There's little doubt that the Chiefs would be quite thrilled with adding a player of Jackson's skill set and fit onto the defense for years to come. Not only can he fill in for Chris Jones as a 3-tech and provide some disruptive sets but he's a big body who can collapse on lanes as a plus asset in the run game. Given the need for a higher ceiling along the defensive interior overall, Jackson would be a welcome addition.
