Chris Wormley

This potential free agent signing comes with the caveat that Chris Wormley needs to be healthy, but if so, he could end up being an interesting addition to the Chiefs defensive front.

Wormley is the former third-round pick of the Baltimore Ravens who also went on to be traded to the Steelers after three years in 2021. Pittsburgh then re-signed him to a two-year deal which showed how much they liked having Wormley around. The bad news is that Wormley tore his ACL late in the season last year, and will have to prove he's ready to return to the field to get someone to sign him.

When healthy, Wormley is the sort of versatile defensive lineman that the Chiefs typically appreciate most. He's a 300-lb. lineman used to playing inside, but he can easily slide outside and is an above average run defender who can set an edge—a pretty rare package that he can be that quick. Then again, the injury could change everything as could the fact that he's also entering his seventh season in the league.

Wormley is doing a free agent tour at this point and has spent time with the Carolina Panthers, New England Patriots, and New York Giants. Perhaps the Chiefs want to take a look, too, before losing a FA option from the market.
