The first round of the 2024 NFL Draft is in the books! The Kansas City Chiefs moved up to the 28th pick to nab Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy, which made Chiefs Kingdom very happy.

The good news is that the draft doesn't stop with the first night. There are two more days of draft coverage and six more rounds to complete. Mel Kiper's big board still has some heavy hitters sitting atop the rankings too so let's look at who the best available are from the draft pundit's list.

1. Cooper DeJean, CB (Iowa)

There was a massive run on offensive players in the first round of the draft, which allowed talented defensive players such as Cooper DeJean to slip through the cracks. Three cornerbacks heard their names called in the first round and none of them were ranked above DeJean on Kiper's big board, who was ranked as the 14th best prospect by Kiper.

2. Edgerrin Cooper, LB (Texas A&M)

The 26th-best prospect on Kiper's big board is Edgerrin Cooper, who is still waiting to hear his name called as we enter Day 2 of the NFL Draft. Cooper is a speedy linebacker who had 84 tackles and 17.0 tackles for loss during the 2023 season while also securing 8.0 sacks.

3. Keon Coleman, WR (Florida State)

There was a run on receivers in the first round and the Chiefs finally added one in the first round, nabbing Worthy with their Round 1 selection. The top receiver remaining according to Kiper is Keon Coleman, who is coming off a 2023 season where he found the end zone 11 times in 2023. He's the 33rd-best prospect on Kiper's big board.

4. Kool-Aid McKinstry, CB (Alabama)

If the NFL Draft was based off of who has the coolest name, there's no doubt that Kool-Aid McKinstry would be a first-round pick and potentially the top name off the board. That's not what we're dealing with, however. McKinstry was a three-year starter at Alabama and shouldn't have to wait long to hear his name called in Round 2. He's 35th on the big board.

5. Adonai Mitchell, WR (Texas)

One Texas wide receiver is heading to Kansas City to catch passes from Patrick Mahomes. His teammate, Adonai Mitchell, is still waiting to find out what team he'll be heading to. Mitchell is the 36th-best prospect on Kiper's list and is coming off a season where he scored 11 touchdowns and averaged 15.4 yards per catch.
