The Kansas City Chiefs have made their first official selection in the 2024 NFL Draft with the pick of wide receiver Xavier Worthy at No. 28, and it's clear that some folks in the NFL think it's a bit unfair that an offense with Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce has a chance to add that much speed.

Worthy is a track star of a football player who is one of the most dynamic weapons in the entire NFL Draft. He broke the NFL Combine record for the 40-yard dash by running a time of 4.21 seconds and he exhibited that sort of speed on the field of play as well.

Let's take a look at what fans and analysts were saying on social media about the Chiefs' first choice in the 2024 NFL Draft.

With the addition of Worthy, the Chiefs now have the sort of deep threat they've lacked since trading away Tyreek Hill two years ago for a plethora of draft choices. While he's lean, he's proven to be far more productive than most deep speed threats coming into the NFL, and clearly general manager Brett Veach believes he can be a success story in the Chiefs offense.

Most of the responses on social media are predicting the same. Check out some of our favorite responses to the selection of Xavier Worthy for the Chiefs.

Chiefs center Creed Humphrey had us laughing the most with his response to adding so much speed on offense.

It's hard to beat this response from an anonymous general manager from another team in the Chiefs' conference.

We loved what Chiefs linebacker Drue Tranquill had to say when he saw the pick.

Speaking of Mahomes, it seemed he was pleased with the offensive addition.

The marveling at the move—good and bad—continued from all corners of the web.

As for the Buffalo Bills, previous trades with the Chiefs haven't, ahem, worked out so well. We'll have to wait and see on this one, but some are already worried about it.
