The Buffalo Bills are reportedly souring on the former Chiefs wide receiver.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling has already endured a long offseason. It sounds like things could get even tougher in the weeks to come.

The Buffalo Bills are reportedly souring on the former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver just two months after signing him. Rumors coming out of Buffalo's training camp have Valdes-Scantling on the outside looking in of the team's core wide receivers.

NFL reporter Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports that Valdes-Scantling has been running with the second- and third-team units for the Bills offense in practice before the team's first preseason game. He also reported that Tyrell Shavers, a second-year wideout out of San Diego State, has outplayed him early in camp.

The Chiefs released Valdes-Scantling in one of their very first moves of the 2024 offseason, shortly after the Super Bowl. The timing gave the veteran receiver a lead on the rest of free agency, but instead, Valdes-Scantling sat and waited for the next couple of months. It wasn't until after the NFL Draft that interest picked up and visits were taken with the L.A. Chargers and Bills.

The Bills signed Valdes-Scantling in mid-May to a room that had already imported free agent Curtis Samuel and rookie Keon Coleman in addition to smaller moves—including a roll of the dice on Chase Claypool.

Valdes-Scantling spent the last two seasons with the Chiefs, winning two Super Bowls in the process, as the team's primary deep threat following the trade of Tyreek Hill. He initially signed a three-year deal in free agency after finishing out his rookie contract with the Green Bay Packers, but the ability to save cap space and a lack of consistent production led to his relealse from K.C.
