Looking at the best non-Chiefs NFL games in Week 3

2. Atlanta Falcons (2-0) @ Detroit Lions (1-1)

Who would have guessed that the Falcons would be featured in a "game of the week" type segment? Desmond Ridder is a game manager through and through, but that team has tremendous talent on both sides of the ball. Atlanta features a combination at running back that is reminiscent of Warrick Dunn and Mike Alslott in their prime. While they play a style of football that does not really exist any more, they are extremely effective to this point in the season.
Lions fans, rest assured. You are going to be fine. A heartbreaking loss to the Seahawks is a far cry from the heartbreak of the past. The truth is that Detroit has playmakers all over the field. With a smash-mouth style of football, they will capitalize on mistakes and punch you in the mouth. They could be a real threat to take the NFC North when it is all said and done.
The Bottom Line: This is a really unique matchup. The Lions get a chance to show their resiliency and toughness in the trenches and the Falcons get a chance to prove that they are worthy of their 2-0 start. I believe that the Lions will have just enough firepower to win in a close one.
Prediction: Atlanta Falcons: 24 Detroit Lions: 28
