The Kansas City Chiefs were in a position to bring in the majority of their 2024 NFL Draft class on Day 3 after consecutive trades up that knocked their latter selections further down the overall draft order. Waking up on Saturday morning, general manager Brett Veach had five picks to make in the final four rounds.

In the fourth round, two of those picks were scheduled to be made at No. 131 and 133 overall and the Chiefs stayed at both spots.

The Chiefs made two picks in the bottom of the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft and grabbed some nice contributors on both sides of the ball.

First, the Chiefs grabbed tight end Jared Wiley from TCU at No. 131 in a move that finally removed on of Mel Kiper's favorite players remaining off of the big board. Last year, Wiley had 47 catches for 520 receiving yards and 8 touchdowns.

Wiley is a renowned pass blocker who should officially replace Blake Bell and gives the Chiefs another young investment at a position where Travis Kelce is getting older and Noah Gray is coming into his contract season.

As for the Chiefs' second fourth-round selection at No. 133 overall, they selected Washington State safety Jaden Hicks, another player who had hung around a bit longer than some draft analysts realized. Hicks was a two-year starter for WSU with 10 pass deflections and 3 interceptions in that span.

The Chiefs reached up the draft order for some top-tier speed on offense in the first round in a swap of picks with the Buffalo Bills. The Chiefs then selected Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy. In the second round, the Chiefs moved up a single spot in a deal with the San Francisco 49ers to add a new long-term play at left tackle with KIngsley Suamataia from BYU at No. 63 overall.

The Chiefs now have the following picks left in the 2024 NFL Draft:

  • Fifth round - No. 159 (via DAL)
  • Sixth round - No. 211 (via SF)
  • Seventh round - No. 248 (via BUF)
