Twelve months ago, the Kansas City Chiefs were already considered a potential dynasty in the making. A Hall of Fame coach with the game's best quarterback and all-time greats at tight end and defensive tackle formed the base of a roster that went all-in on a youth movement to deepen the roster and shore up weaknesses.

Then came the year to remember.

In the last 12 months, the Chiefs not only hoisted their second Lombardi Trophy in four seasons but they've finally, truly arrived.

What a year for the Chiefs, on and off the field!

The Chiefs are now ubiquitous. They're everywhere. They're the primary celebs in made-for-TV golf championships and drawing the ire of rivals around the NFL. They're hosting Saturday Night Live and launching non-profit initiatives. If you thought you always saw the Chiefs on TV during the season, the truth is that the offseason has featured them just as often.

Just take a look at this year's ESPY Awards, held at the Dolby Theater in L.A. on Wednesday night. The Chiefs swept the actual awards and dominated the festivities. The entire organization won "Best Team" just as Patrick Mahomes was honored as "Best NFL Player". Mahomes also won "Best Athlete, Men's Sports".

And in case you need further proof, Donna Kelce was featured at the ESPYs.

Hats off to the Chiefs for providing year-round content for their fans as other franchises allow their bases to starve. And now we've gotta get back to binging that Mahomes docu-series on Netflix.
