KC Chiefs have 3 of the top 7 players in the NFL, per PFF

It makes sense for the defending champions in the National Football League to also be credited with having the best overall talent. But the abundance of riches at the top of the latest ranking of the NFL's best players is pretty eye-opening, even for Kansas City Chiefs fans used to seeing their favorite players dominate such lists.
The folks at Pro Football Focus have published their list of the top 50 players of the 2023 NFL season and three of the top seven players belong to the Chiefs. Yes, in a league with 32 total teams and nearly 1,700 players who will be employed on active rosters this fall, PFF believes that the Chiefs have three of the top seven.
The Chiefs are loaded on both sides of the ball.
The list, of course, begins with Patrick Mahomes, the reigning regular-season MVP as well as last year's Super Bowl MVP. The Chiefs quarterback is the best player in the game and is already a first-ballot Hall of Famer despite just now entering his prime years. Beyond Mahomes is tight end Travis Kelce, another future Hall of Fame player who has rewritten expectations for what a tight end can do in the NFL.
Coming in at No. 7 is a man who is currently holding out for more money, but no one can deny the impact of Chris Jones along the defensive interior. Last year he entered the conversation for Defensive Player of the Year as he matched a caeer-high in sacks with 15.5.
The Chiefs were already on the list with center Creed Humphrey making the list last week as Pro Football Focus decided to roll out the full list slowly. Humphrey is just coming into his third season and was the third player on the Chiefs offense recognized for 2023's best players.
