Jeopardy contestants forget Super Bowl LVIII details all too soon
Even during the offseason, there seems to be no way to avoid the Kansas City Chiefs as one of their 3x Super Bowl champion players was featured as an answer on the popular television show Jeopardy.
The Chiefs-related material came in the form of a question referencing the team's most recent Super Bowl hero: wide receiver Mecole Hardman.
Under the category "Current Events," Hardman was mentioned in what would become a very ironic question worth $600 for the contestants: "Will it be 'How soon they forget' or 'Always remembered'? He caught the Super Bowl 58-winning pass for Kansas City"
The question, which would be the easiest $600 any Chiefs fan could make on a normal day, only garnered one answer which ended up being wrong as one contestant guessed "Who is Kelce?"
Nobody else attempted the answer leading new Jeopardy host Ken Jennings to laugh and point out the irony of the question: "Kelce's watching on the Jumbotron, it's Mecole Hardman catching the pass... HOW SOON WE FORGOT!"
Despite the long-running show featuring some of the smartest, most well-educated game show contestants on television, it's pretty obvious that sports are not an essential part of their daily routines. Still, you'd expect that the name "Hardman" likely passed through their ear canals at some point over the past six weeks, right?
Either way, Hardman will always be a household name around Kansas City and anywhere that Chiefs Kingdom is located around the globe, even if the three contestants on Jeopardy may not remember.
