It's becoming quite an odd scenario for anyone wanting to simply watch the Kansas City Chiefs' opening playoff game on Saturday night—whether fans want to go in person and watch the live event or stay in the comfort of their home and view it there. From every angle, there are hurdles or at least some unique parameters involved.

For fans who want to attend the game, the weather concerns have gotten so bad—with the wind chill expected to hit nearly -30 degrees—that tickets are as cheap as a dinner out at a chain restaurant.

For fans who plan on staying home for their postseason viewing, fans will have another hurdle: finding out where to watch it. That's because the NFL previously sold the rights to this particular game to a streaming service for the first time in broadcast history.

On Saturday night, the streaming service known as Peacock will hold the only broadcast rights for fans wanting to watch the game, except on local levels. Those in the region within the range of KSHB 41 will still be able to watch the local broadcast, but on a national level, the Chiefs' contest against the Dolphins can only be seen on Peacock.

Peacock is the streaming service of NBC/Universal and won the rights to a single playoff game for a cool $110 million this past offseason in the latest money grab by the league.

Like it or not, Peacock is the outlet unless you're in the local market. Fortunately, there are free trials available for new users signing up before the game.
