Chances are, if you're a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs or Miami Dolphins, you've already started to look into how you're going to be able to watch the Wild Card round of the postseason and the scheduled matchup between these playoff teams. That's because the National Football League has made this as convoluted as possible and decided to give a playoff game to the streaming service known as Peacock.

It's one thing if a streaming service wants to simultaneously provide coverage of a game alongside a primary or well-established media outlet, but we're now getting to the point where the average football fan needs to have numerous subscriptions in order to keep up.

Like it or not, however, this is what we have to work with.

Peacock is the streaming service for NBC/Universal content, and the decision was made last year for Peacock to get into the NFL business. NBC already has the agreement to host Sunday Night Football, a primetime weekly viewing of some of the regular season's biggest games. However, scoring the sole rights to a postseason game is on another level entirely.

The reasons aren't complicated. Money talks and Peacock ponied up $110 million for the rights to frustrate all of us. The powers-that-be are hoping that enough of us sign up for new memberships (or renew them) to make that money well spent. In order to watch the game, most of us have no choice (unless you're in a local TV market).

If Peacock is the portal to watching the Chiefs and Dolphins, then what do you need to know? We've got you covered.

Do I need Peacock if I live in the team's market?

No. In Kansas City, you can watch the Chiefs for free on KSHB 41. In South Florida, it's WTVJ 6.

What if I need to sign up for Peacock?

You can sign up for a subscription (monthly or annual) at Peacock's official site. Monthly plans start at $5.99 per month, and members can stream on up to three devices at once—phone, tablet, or television.

When is the Chiefs-Dolphins game?

The Chiefs will host the Dolphins in the Wild Card round at Arrowhead Stadium as the No. 3 seed. Miami is the No. 6 seed. The game will kick off at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 13.

What's the weather forecast for Chiefs-Dolphins?

The frigid forecast at Arrowhead calls for a slight chance of snow with a temperature of 0 degrees (and much worse with the wind blowing). If you're going, please make sure to bundle up and take very safety precaution!

Can I catch a game on Peacock at a local sports bar?

You will need to contact the establishment ahead of time to ask, but those sports bars or gathering spots that are interested in broadcasting the game do have the option via the Peacock Sports Pass.

Who are the announcers for Chiefs-Dolphins on Peacock?

Mike Tirico, Jason Garrett, and Kaylee Hartung
