Calm down there, kids.

The Kansas City Chiefs are 3-0 and coming off back-to-back Super Bowl championships. The New York Giants are 1-2 and narrowly beat the dumpster-fire Browns in Week 3, which might as well be their Super Bowl this season.

One Giants fan on X posted stats comparing Patrick Mahomes and Daniel Jones' numbers this season and, let's just say the Giants fans might be getting a little carried away here after the Giants' first win of the season. The fan, known as @CSmittyNY on X, pointed out that Jones' QBR is higher than Mahomes' and that the Giants signal-caller has only one less touchdown but two fewer interceptions than Mahomes does this season.

The caption on the post is "GOAT" vs "Worst QB in the NFL" with Mahomes being considered the GOAT and Jones being considered the worst quarterback.

Giants fans might need to calm down in comparing Daniel Jones to Patrick Mahomes

Okay, I'll just say it: This tweet is probably a joke, or at least I hope it is. The numbers might be accurate but no one in their right mind would think that Jones is better than Mahomes, not now, not ever. Jones has woefully underperformed for the Giants since the team spent a first-round pick on him in 2019 and has only gotten the G-Men to the playoffs once.

Mahomes, on the other hand, has reached the AFC Championship in every single season that he's started and has been to the Super Bowl in all but two seasons where he started. He's won three Super Bowls, been crowned Super Bowl MVP in all three Super Bowls, and has been named league MVP twice. There's no debate here.

All of that being said, Mahomes doesn't look like Mahomes this year but maybe he's at the point of his career where he's figured out how to simply win games in the regular season and then turn on the accelerator in the playoffs. We saw Tom Brady look pedestrian at times during the regular season and then go on to play out of his mind when the playoffs began so it wouldn't be the craziest thing.

Let's hope this Giants fan was kidding when he posted this but if he really is delusional enough to think Jones is better than Mahomes this year, more power to him, I guess. Let him think that and be disappointed when the end of the season rolls around and his quarterback lives up to his billing.
