For most of this week, there was one primary question for Kansas City Chiefs fans that would be asked about the team's list of active (or inactive) players for Week 3: would Kareem Hunt be available or not?

The big story for the Chiefs this week has been the activity at the running back position for Kansas City after watching starter Isiah Pacheco leave in the fourth quarter in Week 2 against the Cincinnati Bengals with what would later be identified as a fractured fibula. Since then, the Chiefs have gone to work on the backfield in the hopes of sorting out a healthy and productive group to face the Falcons in Week 3.

Pacheco was placed on injured reserve to clear a roster spot, and the Rutgers product is expected to be out for 6-8 weeks (and perhaps more). In his place, the Chiefs promoted Keaontay Ingram from the practice squad, who has been with the team since mid-November of last season. The Chiefs will lean on Carson Steele and Samaje Perine to anchor the load with Ingram in reserve.

Hunt also signed with the Chiefs this week as a free agent who is very familiar with Arrowhead Stadium, having played with the team for nearly two seasons in 2017-18. He spent the last five years with the Browns after being released by K.C. due to an assault and subsequent lying about what happened, but trust issues have apparently been restored because the Chiefs have now welcomed him back.

That said, Hunt knows he's going to remain on the practice squad for now as Reid explained before the game that he was going to hold Hunt out of any immediate action for the Chiefs.

Let's take a look at the inactives lists for both teams coming into Sunday Night Football.

As for actual inactives, Hunt won't be there but that's because a player has to be on the active roster to be a scratch or not on game day. To get a hint at who might be included, we can look back a week ago but that list held no surprises for fans. Every Chiefs entry was a backup lineman who was unlikely to play in the first place—two on the offensive side (CJ Hanson, Ethan Driskell) and two on the defensive side (Cam Thomas, Marlon Tuipulotu).

The Falcons made a few roster moves shortly before Monday Night Football in Week 2 to sort out injuries. Their final inactives list included a familiar face to Chiefs fans in cornerback Antonio Hamilton. He was out along with OT Brandon Parker, DL Brandon Dorlus, RB Jase McClellan, DL Ruke Orhorhoro, and OL Jovaughn Gwyn.

Now that the inactives are officially out, let's take a look:
