Chiefs vs Browns: Juan Thornhill gets a touchdown against his old team

Since it's still the preseason, we suppose we can cheer for an old friend.

On Saturday, the Kansas City Chiefs hosted the Cleveland Browns for the third preseason game for both teams, and in his return home for the first time since leaving the team in free agency, former K.C. safety Juan Thornhill found a way to score when back on the field at Arrowhead Stadium.

Early in the first quarter with the Chiefs up by 3, K.C. once again had the ball on offense and were driving with Shane Buechele under center. On a short third-down conversion, Buechele was attempting to find Justyn Ross on a pass to his left to move the chains. Instead, his former teammate, Thornhill, read the play from the defensive backfield and grabbed the pass in front of the receiver and ran it back 34 yards for a pick-six.

Given the fact that it means absolutely nothing in terms of official totals or game impact, we're quite happy for Thornhill to have a moment in his return back to Arrowhead. In case you missed it, here's the play:

Thornhill left the Chiefs this spring in free agency when given the chance to sign a three-year deal with Cleveland worth $14 million guaranteed. The deal can be worth up to $21 million with incentives. Later, after signing the deal, Thornhill went on to trash the free agent market.

This will be Thornhill's only visit to Arrowhead this year unless both teams find a way to play each other in the postseason.
