The Kansas City Chiefs did what most people expected them to and beat the Miami Dolphins in the opening round of the NFL Playoffs to advance to the divisional round.
Now, they have a chance to advance to their sixth straight AFC Championship but they need to get past the Bills once again to do that. Unlike the other two times they took down Josh Allen and the Bills in the playoffs, this time they'll have to head to Buffalo to get it done.
You may be surprised to find out what the opening odds say about the Chiefs' chances.
Chiefs vs. Bills odds, spread, and total
Despite having the Bills number in the playoffs in recent years, the Chiefs are set as 2.5-point underdogs in Buffalo on Sunday night. The total for the game is set at 46.
Given their moneyline odds of +124, oddsmakers are giving the Chiefs an implied probability of 44.64% of beating the Bills and advancing to the AFC Championship.
The Bills got the better of the Chiefs earlier this season, winning by a final score of 20-17 in a game that was highlighted by a penalty that nullified a potential game winning touchdown by Kadarius Toney.
Despite losing the game, the Chiefs outgained the Bills in the game, 5.6 yards per play to 4.5 yards per play.
Now, they'll head to Buffalo for the first time since October 19th, 2020. The Chiefs have hosted the Bills in the last five meetings between those teams, going 2-3 in that stretch but with both wins coming in the playoffs when it mattered most.
Will Patrick Mahomes be able to win his first true road playoff game of his career? We'll find out on Sunday.
