The Kansas City Chiefs' schedule for the 2024 regular season is coming together piece by piece, and so far, the opponents involved are the biggest contenders on the schedule.

The latest schedule leak comes from ESPN reporter Adam Schefter who notes that the Cincinnati Bengals will be visiting the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium in Week 2 on Sunday, September 15 at 3:25 p.m. Arrowhead Time.

The Bengals will follow up the Ravens to open the season at Arrowhead for 2024.

The announcement of the Bengals' visit to K.C. comes just one day after the Chiefs learned they would also host the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1, which makes for back-to-back AFC North opponents to start the season. Oh yeah, they just also happen to be two of the most likely contenders for the conference championship along with the Chiefs.

This matchup with the Bengals is always a highly-anticipated contest given the status of the quarterbacks involved with Patrick Mahomes and Joe Burrow. It's also heightened by the fact that the Bengals have actually been able to knock off Andy Reid and company on multiple occasions and/or at pivotal moments.

Since Reid arrived as the Chiefs head coach, the Bengals have the upper hand with a 4-3 record over the Chiefs. That includes a painful 27-24 victory at Arrowhead in the AFC Championship three seasons ago. The Chiefs have won the last two games, however, and both teams are going to be experiencing growing pains with new players and roster changes this early in the season.

The full NFL regular season schedule is set to be revealed on Wednesday, May 15.
