2024 NFL mock draft: Chiefs linked with multiple dynamic defenders
By Matt Conner
Kris Jenkins, DL, Michigan
If Mike Danna is any indication of the sort of coaching that goes on at Michigan with their defensive linemen, then the Chiefs might want to hustle to turn in Kris Jenkins' name in the 2024 iteration of the edraft.
Jenkins is an exciting young entrant into the 2024 NFL Draft class and is someone who could easily step up and provide a greater overall ceiling along the interior. He's also Chris Jones insurance if nothing else.
If the name rings familiar, that's because he should be. Kris Jenkins Sr. was a force inside for the Carolina Panthers who made four Pro Bowl appearances himself. His son tips the scales at over 300 pounds and stands 6'3" and could be primed for a similar impact. Last year as a junior for the Wolverines, Jenkins had 19 total pressures.
Josh Edwards of CBS Sports has the Chiefs going with Jenkins and says, "It is difficult to envision Kansas City allowing Chris Jones to leave town but the reality is that he is a free agent after the season. The position is a need even with Jones. Kris Jenkins adds to the room."
