L'Jarius Sneed, Cornerback

Last, but certainly not least is star cornerback L'Jarius Sneed. Despite not being named to the Pro Bowl, he will see a significant pay raise next season. He is a pending unrestricted free agent and is coming off the best season of his career.

Before the season, I predicted that Sneed would be leaving, but my tune has since changed. After the campaign he's put together, there's no way that Brett Veach can allow Sneed to just walk out the door. It will be expensive but the dynamic duo of Trent McDuffie and L'Jarius Sneed is a huge reason why the Chiefs defense has been as good as it's been.

Although Kansas City has a knack for developing cornerbacks, Sneed is just too valuable to allow to leave for nothing. I don't think that will happen since the team will have the franchise tag at their disposal unless they choose to use it on Chris Jones.

The worst-case scenario is they tag and trade L'Jarius Sneed to acquire more draft capital and free up money to re-sign Chris Jones. In the end, I think there's a very strong chance that #38 will be on the team next season, but whether or not he's on a long-term contract or is playing on the tag remains to be seen.

Odds that he's back: 80%
