Quarterback on Netflix is back for a second season after pivoting to featuring wide receivers and a tight end last year. Kansas City Chiefs fans know all too well about this show, as Patrick Mahomes appeared on the first installment and the Chiefs went on to win the Super Bowl during that season.
While the Chiefs didn't have a player featured on Receiver, Mahomes was a producer on it and his Chiefs took down George Kittle and Deebo Samuel's 49ers in the Super Bowl. So, even though Kansas City didn't have a player on Receiver, the team still got plenty of airtime.
That will be the same case for season two of Quarterback. No, Mahomes is not on this season but the Chiefs squared off against two of the three quarterbacks featured on the upcoming season. The quarterbacks chosen for the second installment are Joe Burrow, Kirk Cousins, and Jared Goff, so we will see Mahomes and K.C. in at least two quarterbacks' stories.
Patrick Mahomes and Chiefs played two QBs chosen for Quarterback Season 2
These episodes will come early in the series, which debuts in July, as the Chiefs and Burrow's Bengals played in Week 2 and the Chiefs and Cousins' Falcons squared off on Sunday Night Football in Week 3 (both games came down to the wire, as Chiefs games often do). That means we probably won't see Mahomes or the Chiefs much after the first episode or two but hey, they're still going to be a part of those two signal-callers' stories.
Chiefs fans will enjoy watching the Bengals' chaotic season on the streaming service, as Cincinnati once again started slow and ultimately missed the playoffs. The Chiefs might get brought up again later on because their decision to bench their starters for the Week 18 game against Denver will likely get brought up in Burrow's story.
Cousins, who appeared on season one of the show with Mahomes, was benched in the back half of the Falcons' season. Funny enough, the Falcons had a signal-caller on the first season, Marcus Mariota, and he too was benched so it's the same story for that team.
Goff is the only quarterback out of these three to help his team reach the playoffs but they were bounced by the Commanders in the divisional round. Quarterback season 1 and Receiver both had at least one player make the Super Bowl and you can tell the show tried to pick guys who had a shot to get there but it backfired.
Fortunately, we'll get to see Mahomes and the Chiefs at least in a few episodes.
