NFL analyst gave eerily accurate prediction foretelling Chiefs' Super Bowl disaster

[Deep sigh] Whatever.

Normally a Chiefs blog would not be the place to take an Eagles victory lap, but the game's the game and sometimes you just have to tip your hat. (I don't actually believe this, but sportsmanship, etc.)

And if we're going to lick our wounds here and give someone credit for picking the Eagles to win the Super Bowl, it might as well be Andrew Brandt? Why? I don't really know. But for the sake of this exercise, let's just try and find it in our hearts to respect that Brandt was one of the few people in sports media who was on the "Eagles win big" train the entire week.

Brandt didn't exactly pick a five-score loss, but it was close. But outside of the margin of victory, Brandt knocked it out of the park. So much so, in fact, that it's kinda eerie. Maybe those "NFL script writers" commercials are actually telling the truth, because they know that no one would believe them? Brandt had every talking point from the next week of postgame coverage nailed way ahead of time, and if you have it in you to read it, you'll see what I mean.

Andrew Brandt's pregame Super Bowl prediction was incredible and also so annoying

The weird part isn't that he picked the Eagles to win, it's how the Eagles do it that makes me a little nervy. Mahomes *did* have one of the worst games of his career, and the whole line about it being worse than subpar hits a little too close to home. I'm honestly a little surprised that The Simpson's didn't predict him predicting this game. Even the Zack Baun callout is topical.

Again, I despise everything about this, but I have to respect it. There's no greater joy than being pedantic about picking one (1) single football game right, and when you've earned it, you've earned it. Fair play, Andrew Brandt. If you wanted to predict a Chiefs revenge Super Bowl season in 2025, I wouldn't hate it.
