Kansas City Chiefs fans don't love that the Las Vegas Raiders have slowly started to look like a competent franchise since Tom Brady became a minority owner. Fortunately, the possibility of Matthew Stafford coming to the AFC West via a trade to the Raiders is officially not going to happen, as Jordan Schultz reported that he'll be staying put in Los Angeles with the Rams.

This is fantastic news for Chiefs fans because it means that A) Stafford isn't coming to a division that already has Patrick Mahomes, Justin Herbert, and Bo Nix and B) The Raiders are back to square one when it comes to finding their next quarterback. A win-win for Kansas City.

Chiefs won't have to deal with playing Matthew Stafford twice a year

Stafford landing with the Raiders did appear to be a possibility just a few days ago, as it had been reported that the Rams quarterback had spent time with Tom Brady this offseason. Brady, of course, is a minority owner of the Raiders now and we all know he's running the show there.

Luckily, Stafford is staying with the Rams and that means K.C. won't have to add another daunting quarterback to the division. Sure, Mahomes and the Chiefs are the favorites to win the AFC West until they're finally dethroned but with the other three teams adding potential future Hall of Fame coaches to lead them, it's only going to get harder to stay on top in the division.

Had the Raiders gotten Stafford, it'd have made them a more respectable team for sure. They'd still have had some holes but their weakest position last year was at quarterback and Stafford would immediately change that. Finding a competent quarterback is half the battle in the NFL these days.

The Raiders now have to go back to the drawing board and, fortunately for Chiefs Kingdom, the quarterbacks on the open market and in the draft are not all that great this year, making it even more difficult for Las Vegas to find one that makes them a better team.

Anything bad that happens to the Raiders is music to Chiefs fans' ears.
