Former NFL WR can't believe that people are giving Chiefs bulletin board material

You'd think they'd learn their lesson by now.

The Kansas City Chiefs are preparing for another Super Bowl appearance. It'll be the fifth appearance for star tight end Travis Kelce, who was asked by his brother, Jason Kelce, on the New Heights podcast if he and the Chiefs relished being the villains.

"I love it. I love it," Kelce responded in true Travis Kelce fashion.

This conversation, of course, made its way through the media for everyone to dissect. Former NFL wide receiver Greg Jennings said that giving Kansas City any kind of bulletin board material at this stage is a stupid decision.

"The worst thing you can do as an opponent or even fans, we don't even know that we're doing it, is to give a great player, a great team a reason to feel like it's us against the world when it's really not them against the world. That's how it's being viewed" Jennings said on First Things First. "They are coming in this game as the favorites feeling like, 'Nobody wants us to win'."

Greg Jennings cautions people against giving Chiefs more ammunition

Chiefs fans are used to seeing their team getting slandered in the media since the dynasty was officially cemented. Even before the Chiefs won Super Bowl LVIII in overtime, the hatred was strong for this team, as they had been in three of the previous Super Bowls and won two of them. You can imagine how much more that hatred grew when they reached their fifth Super Bowl in six years and are on the verge of a three-peat.

Jennings' message is that while the Chiefs aren't underdogs, they're going into this game as if they are and that's dangerous for the Eagles and anyone rooting against them. We saw the Patriots have this same mentality and it worked out well for them so why shouldn't K.C. adopt the same mentality?

Until the Chiefs are finally dethroned (for good), they're going to remain as the villains of the NFL. For Chiefs Kingdom, that's just fine. We don't need friends, we've got our Super Bowl wins to cheer us up.
