Update: It appears the charges against Worthy might have been dismissed.
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy was arrested on Friday in Williamson County, Texas on an assault charge, per Will Kunkel of Fox Sports.
Specifically, Kunkel reports it's a "criminal charge of assault against a family or household member by impeding their breathing or circulation." A photo of the arrest report can be found here.
Per Matt Derrick, the Chiefs are "aware" of the situation.

The statement reads: "We are aware of the allegation that led to Mr. Worthy's arrest. We are working with law enforcement in Williamson County to ensure they have the benefit of the totality of the circumstances that led to this allegation. The complainant was recently asked to vacate Mr. Worthy's residence upon discovery of her infidelity. She has refused to do so and made a number of extortive efforts prior to resorting to this baseless accusation against Mr. Worthy. We will continue to cooperate with the Williamson County authorities as we have full faith that their thorough investigation will support Mr. Worthy's innocence."
Kirk Bohls of the Houston Chronicle posted further allegations from Worthy's lawyers that went beyond the statement.
Xavier Worthy's lawyers say he asked the complainant "multiple times" to vacate the residence and said she "destroyed a room, scratched Worthy's face and ripped out" some of his hair. They add there is photographic evidence supporting Worthy.

Unfortunately, the Chiefs have been down this road before in terms of offseason arrests, especially at the wide receiver position. Rashee Rice was arrested and charged approximately a year ago on 8 counts, including aggravated assault, for his role in a multi-vehicle accident while racing at high speeds. Tyreek Hill also faced charges on the first day of the 2019 NFL Draft, although he was eventually exonerated following a lengthy legal process.
Worthy was the first-round pick of the Kansas City Chiefs last spring, taken at No. 28 overall after the team traded up with the Buffalo Bills. Worthy was a star at the University of Texas whose elite top-end speed helped him rocket up draft boards following a record-setting performance at the 2024 NFL Combine where he set a new mark in the 40-yard dash.
Worthy had 59 catches for 638 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns last season for the Chiefs. He had a true breakout effort in the team's loss in Super Bowl LIX with 8 catches on 8 targets for 157 yards and 2 touchdowns.
