For the last year, the Kansas City Chiefs have felt the pressure of and generated excitement for the potential of making NFL history. Last offseason, Brett Veach constructed the roster in the hopes of reaching this moment. For weeks, the team prepared for the rigors of the upcoming season in training camp and the preseason. For 17 games during an 18-week regular season, they weathered every other team's best efforts and still came away as the top seed in the AFC.

Now the only thing standing in the Chiefs' way of a historic three-peat—the first team in NFL history to ever win three consecutive Super Bowl titles—is the Philadelphia Eagles.

If the matchup sounds familiar, it is. The Eagles were the first victim in this potential trio of victories back in Super Bowl LVII. Now in Super Bowl LIX, Jalen Hurts and company are hoping for some revenge at the Caesar's Superdome on Sunday evening.

The Eagles have more at stake than the Chiefs when it comes to inactive player lists for Super Bowl 59.

The stakes couldn't be higher for the Chiefs who have the chance to elevate this era from "dynasty" to something never before witnessed in NFL history. That's scary news for the rest of the league knowing Patrick Mahomes is still in his twenties and the Chiefs have a motivated Andy Reid on the sideine, who is not going anywhere as head coach.

That said, the Eagles aren't just going to step aside while the Chiefs make confetti angels. The Eagles have household names all over their roster and dynamic young players on defense along the line and in the secondary. Howie Roseman has done an excellent job to rebuild the roster back to title strength and Nick Sirianni will have his team ready to play.

That said, there are some intriguing questions about who will be suiting up on Sunday. The Eagles have dealt with injuries and illnesses leading up to the big game. Cam Jurgen's back will be something to watch. DeVonta Smith's hamstring is an ongoing concern. Kenny Gainwell has dealt with a concussion. Jalen Carter and others have been sick this week.

As for the Chiefs, some unidentified players have been dealing with the flu as well before the game, but the practices have been fully stocked by a mostly healthy team ready to make history. Skyy Moore, the third-year wide receiver, is the only player with any official injury designation and he's listed as doubtful for the game.

Inactive lists will be out soon, and all of these questions will be answered. But there's more at stake for the Eagles before the game unless there's a significant surprise on game day for Kansas City.
