The Denver Broncos were molly-whopped in Week 1 by the Kansas City Chiefs, so it feels safe to say that they've had this rematch circled on their calendars since they drove away from Arrowhead Stadium. Mile High is the site for Round Two, and AFC West supremacy is at stake. Whichever team wins will have an edge at the top of the division.

Who will come away with the victory? The Broncos have won 5 of their last 6 games. The Chiefs won their first 5, but found themselves laying an egg just a week ago in Seattle. Can they rebound? Our writers have made their picks and predictions for Week 8 below.

Chiefs vs. Broncos predictions for Week 8

Price Carter

The Chiefs head into Denver as -1.5 point favorites, something that is notable. I think the instinct is for the general public to jump on Denver after their last 2 wins and the Chiefs' primetime loss. I think the sharps have confidence in KC here. Broncos' offense looked good on paper against the Cardinals, but much of that was two big blown plays. Denver's health on defense will be key in this one. If Jaylon Moore and Rashee Rice return I like the Chiefs to win and cover. Chiefs 22, Broncos 17

The Broncos getting Jonathon Cooper back is the single biggest difference for either team between Week 1 and Week 8. Meanwhile, the Chiefs are licking their wounds from a miserable effort against the Seahawks, and key injuries remain. Mile High is always tough, and Denver has every reason to want to rinse the taste of that first meeting out of their mouths. Broncos 19, Chiefs 16

Bransen Gibson

This is going to be huge. A win would put Kansas City in the box seat to win the AFC West less than halfway through the season, and despite an awful performance against Seattle, I think they're going to get it. Week 1 gave the Chiefs the formula to beat the Broncos and I don't think the Chiefs will play two bad games in a row. Chiefs 23, Broncos 20

Lyle Graversen

It feels unlikely that the Chiefs will be able to control this game as easily as they did the season opener. Denver's defense hasn't been as elite this season, but they are good enough to keep this one close. Ultimately, Mahomes and Walker give KC enough to come out on top. Chiefs 23, Broncos 20

Braden Holecek

The Chiefs can certainly still do it. But I am not picking them to sweep the Broncos. Denver has been a tougher trip in recent years than the early showings in the Andy Reid/Patrick Mahomes partnership. Denver is still one of the best teams on the offensive line and in the secondary. Given the Chiefs' weakness when rushing the passer and wide receivers providing very little reliability, I believe that will be the difference in the Mile High City. Broncos 23, Chiefs 17

Scott Loring

The Chiefs can make the AFC West almost insurmountable with a win in Denver. Unfortunately, a cornered Broncos team exacts its revenge. The rest of the league learns who Broncos RB Jonah Coleman is. Broncos 27, Chiefs 20

Greg Morse

The Chiefs had one of the worst, if not the worst, offensive performances in NFL history and were still only down by 10 up until the final minutes of last week's game. Bo Nix is still not good, and the Chiefs' defense will feast while the offense gets back on track. Not quite the blowout we saw in Week 1, but it'll be close. Chiefs 24, Broncos 10

Shawn O'Brate

Denver knows Kansas City much better than they did in Week 1, so it’s going to be close, much closer than Chiefs fans would like to see after such a bad loss on Sunday night. The receiver issues will likely continue. The offensive line issues will likely continue. The pass rush issues will likely continue. Chiefs will live and die by turnovers, ending in a chance for Harrison Butker to redeem himself late with a game-winning field goal. Chiefs 24, Broncos 23

Charles Robinson

As much as I want to overreact to the Chiefs' primetime pants shitting (crapping?) against Seattle, I do recall a wise man once telling me that water always finds its level. With an aquatic theme in mind, there's a 0% chance Bo Nix can put the Chiefs' defense underwater with his arsenal of 3-yard checkdowns. Chiefs rebound nicely here. Chiefs 29, Broncos 16

Stacy Smith

Chiefs and Broncos lock horns again in a late-window matchup on Sunday. Kansas City is eager to rinse the bad taste from their mouths from Week 7, and get their run game going against a Broncos team that allowed seven yards per carry to Arizona’s Bam Knight. This is a one-score game late that comes down to a crucial turnover. It’ll come from Denver. Chiefs 24, Broncos 21

Hunter Stanton

Chiefs are coming off a poor loss against the Seahawks as they now head to face Denver. I see the Chiefs bouncing back big here. Chiefs 24, Broncos 13

Lucas Strozinsky

After that disaster class in Seattle, I don't know what to expect. That's the groundbreaking analysis our readers have to expect! Chiefs 23, Broncos 20
