The AFC West is available for the taking on Sunday—only halfway through the regular season.
The Kansas City Chiefs already own a half-game edge over the Denver Broncos coming into Week 8, and they've ran off three wins in three games against their division rivals. As they start a second run against each team, beginning with a road trip to Denver on Sunday afternoon, the Chiefs have a very real chance to seize the lead and not let go without completely imploding.
The Broncos, however, have been salivating for a revenge shot after being embarrassed in the season opener at Arrowhead Stadium. The Broncos also have pass rusher Jonathon Cooper back from suspension and he looked sensational against the Arizona Cardinals a week ago. He'll be hungry to help Denver send K.C. spiraling with a second consecutive loss after starting the year 5-0.
There's a lot to look forward to in perhaps the most thrilling game in Week 8. Here's everything you need to prepare for the game—from storylines to injury reports to predictions.

Biggest Chiefs storylines heading into Week 8
The return of Rashee Rice
The Chiefs played Jalen Royals, Andrew Armstrong, Cyrus Allen, and Justin Watson a week ago trying to make up for the critical losses at wide receiver. Some of those players will still play—and maybe all of them, to some degree—but it's a major boost to have Rashee Rice trending toward playing again after missing every game since the Week 5 bye with a hamstring injury.
The return of Jaylon Moore
Just as critical to Rice's return is the ability to slot Jaylon Moore back in the lineup after missing time in the team's concussion protocol. The Chiefs leaned on Josh Ezeudu as his replacement against the Seattle Seahawks a week ago, and the results weren't pretty. That's not all on Ezeudu, of course, but being able to shore up the team's biggest weakness up front should be a tremendous help for Patrick Mahomes.
Can Harrison Butker turn things around?
The Chiefs' longtime kicker is facing very real competition for his job for the first time in nearly a decade. After struggling to convert multiple field goals a week ago, Butker's margin has completely eroded to the point that K.C. signed veteran Justin Tucker to the practice squad. Message sent. Now the question is whether or not Butker will thrive under the pressure or not.
