The 2025 NFL Combine is scheduled to begin in Indianapolis next week, and that means plenty of news and rumors will begin to emerge as general managers and head coaches (and their staffs) come together for a week dedicated to preparation for the 2025 NFL Draft.
While most of the attention is on the best college players doing their best to generate buzz for themselves before April's three day first-year player draft, there's also plenty that will happen behind the scenes as extensions are negotiated, trades are floated, and roster considerations are made with everyone in one central place.
For most fan bases, it's also an important and rare offseason opportunity to hear updates on the latest team news—straight from the source. For the Kansas City Chiefs, this means that head coach Andy Reid and general manager Brett Veach are going to be speaking to the media and answering questions for 15 minutes apiece.
Both Reid and Veach will speak for 15 minutes next week at the Combine.
Specifically if Chiefs fans want to plan their Combine viewing or listening around the availability of the Chiefs' leaders, Andy Reid and Brett Veach will both be speaking on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. CT, respectively.
Veach and Reid have a track record of addressing the media from the Combine one right after the other in a tight 30-minute window in which Chiefs Kingdom will get loads of updates on roster choices, injury updates, and thoughts on the recently completed season.
While Reid speaks to the media multiple times each week during the regular season, it's uncommon for someone in his post to speak to reporters during the offseason—save for key times like the Combine or following the draft. That makes it all the more interesting to see what they have to say in the rare moments they answer questions.
Fans should expect updates on potential contract negotiations for their biggest free agents—including guard Trey Smith, safety Justin Reid, and linebacker Nick Bolton—as well as potential early deals to lock up players like cornerback Trent McDuffie or defensive end George Karlaftis. Fans should also expect an injury update on wide receiver Rashee Rice.
