The Baltimore Ravens are having some real injury issues in the trenches. The Kansas City Chiefs are looking healthier. That might be the difference as the two AFC contenders clash on Sunday afternoon at Arrowhead in their scheduled Week 4 game.
On Thursday, the Chiefs welcomed defensive end Mike Danna back as a full participant in practice after being limited with a hip injury on Wednesday. Danna missed Week 3's win over the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium.
While nothing is official, Danna's status as a full participant is a strong signal that he's set to return to the field for the Chiefs, giving Steve Spagnuolo his starter back opposite George Karlaftis. The Chiefs have depth on the edges with Charloes Omenihu and rookie Ashton Gillotte also on the depth chart, but Danna's presence makes everyone's job easier.
The Chiefs are glad to see Mike Danna back as a full participant in practice.
Danna, who became a full-time starter, joined the Chiefs as a former fifth-round choice in the 2020 NFL Draft out of Michigan. In the spring of 2024, he signed a three-year extension worth up to $24 million—the first draft choice from Brett Veach's tenure to earn a second contract with the team. He has 20.5 career sacks, all with K.C.
As for the rest of the team's injury report, cornerback Kristian Fulton remains a limited participant in practice. Fulton has been dealing with an ankle concern, but has had issues staying healthy since he joined the Chiefs this spring, given that he also missed the entirety of training camp.
As for the Ravens, they're without linebacker Kyle Van Noy, who led the team in sacks last season, and defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike, who is their anchor in the heart of the defensive front. Defensive tackle Travis Jones was also limited for Baltimore on Thursday.
The Ravens and Chiefs, who are both unexpectedly 1-2 and in last place in their respective divisions, are set to kick off at 3:25 p.m. (CT) on Sunday, September 28.
