Kansas City Chiefs fans are grateful to Marquez Valdes-Scantling for the big moments he had during the playoff runs he was a part of. That can be true but it also be true that he was mostly viewed as a disappointment during his time with the Chiefs.
While Valdes-Scantling was a part of two Super Bowl championships during his time with the Chiefs, he did not live up to his end of the bargain. MVS finished his Chiefs career with a little over 1,000 yards and three touchdowns in two years at the helm, which was a far cry from what fans were hoping he'd provide when the team signed him after trading Tyreek Hill.
That never transpired, however, and the Chiefs decided to cut bait with Valdes-Scantling this offseason. He originally signed with the Bills, who realized pretty quickly why the Chiefs didn't want him anymore and now he's a member of the New Orleans Saints, who are one of the worst teams in the league.
Well, Saints fans might not quite believe that MVS is washed after seeing what he did in his first game with them. In the first half alone, Valdes-Scantling tallied three catches for over 100 yards and found the end zone twice. He had just one catch that didn't go for a touchdown in the first half and has looked like the weapon the Chiefs thought they were getting back when they signed him in 2022.

Now, let's be real here, the Saints aren't going anywhere this year. They're 2-7, have lost seven straight games (one of those coming against KC), and fired their head coach last week. The only reason MVS is even suiting up and playing for them is because New Orleans has a CVS receipt-length injury list at the wide receiver position.
It'll be interesting to see what the discussion is concerning MVS after this game concludes but it's easy to look at the stat line and think he's found a team that gets him. Chiefs fans know better than to buy into that. At least thanks for the memories while you were in Kansas City, MVS.
