The Kansas City Chiefs have found some unexpected success early in the '24 season with a couple of player reunions in attempts to stay healthy and effective. A third one has been discussed on social media, but the New Orleans Saints might have something to say about it.

As the Saints join other teams in search of help at the wide receiver position, they're turning their attention to free agent Marquez Valdes-Scantling for a visit.

According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Valdes-Scantling is expected to visit with the Saints on Monday for a workout.

The Saints are bringing in a familiar face for Chiefs fans for a visit with Marquez Valdes-Scantling.

Valdes-Scantling was set free by the Buffalo Bills earlier this month after it was clear the veteran had been bypassed on the depth chart by younger players. Giving MVS his release allowed him to hit the free agent market again in the hopes of finding a new home in order to further his career and help a new team.

One such team discussed was the Chiefs, for which Valdes-Scantling played from 2022-23. It might sound silly to bring back another former player, but given the success rates of both wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster and running back Kareem Hunt, it's not so far-fetched. Both Smith-Schuster and Hunt joined the Chiefs in the last two months and both led the team in their respective offensive categories in Week 5 for a win over the Saints.

The Chiefs are down wide receivers Rashee Rice and Hollywood Brown for the rest of the season and there's a long way to go for Kansas City, a team already past its early bye in Week 6. A player like Valdes-Scantling could have worked his way back into the mix fairly easily given his familiarity with the playbook, but the Chiefs haven't made the call so far.

As for the Saints, their season is slowly slipping away after losing consecutive games to the AFC West. The loss of wide receiver Rashid Shaheed to injury only makes it that much tougher going forwrd, which is why a deep threat like Valdes-Scantling is being brought in for a visit.
