2. Week 18 at Los Angeles Chargers

Week 18 could be the biggest game of the year, given that the Los Angeles Chargers have been the only competition to Kansas City in the AFC West since Mahomes took over as the signal caller.

Since 2018, Mahomes has been 27-3 against AFC West opponents, but one of those losses did come against the Chargers. The Chargers have also been a high-flying team but have been victim to a severe injury bug, and it seems like they are always missing a key piece holding them back.

In 2023, I think the Chargers will get their act together and give the Chiefs a run for their money in the AFC West Division. The league also thinks the Chargers will rise to the occasion by giving them the maximum of six primetime games.

This game has the chance to decide more than just the division. Depending on the standings of other AFC leaders, this game could be a must-win to gain the coveted number one seed and take a bye for wild card weekend. This game is currently TBD, but look for it to be flexed to Sunday Night Football because it will be a big game with significant implications—if they can somehow make it jive with primetime appearance caps.

The last and most important game on this list is going to ring in the new year, and many have had this game circled on the calendar since the opponents came out.
