Jerick McKinnon was involved in one of the mast amazing plays of the season against Denver—one that was far, far too good to be left off this list.

This 56-yard touchdown pass was simply jaw dropping.

As Chiefs fans we should be used to seeing stunning plays like this. But even so, when Mahomes flipped the ball to McKinnon in Denver in Week 14, I still found it hard to believe what I had just witnessed. I mean, how often do you see a no-look sky hook flip go 50+ yards to the house?

Of course, Mahomes is a huge part in making this play happen, but McKinnon played a key role in making it happen—and not just because he was the one who ran it into the end zone.

Once the ball is snapped, you can see his first reaction is to protect the pocket before sliding out into the flat. Then, even once it seems clear that Mahomes is not going to pass to him, he keeps moving. He turns up field and runs into space, reeling the ball in while keeping his balance before heading for the end zone.

Like his touchdown against the Raiders in Week 17, it was a great example of McKinnon being aware and active as a receiver – reading the situation as the play unfolds and putting himself in the perfect position to make the play.

That is something we have seen Travis Kelce do time and time again, and McKinnon clearly has that same instinct and ability as well. And this time it paid off with a big score.
