Former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Chris Conley earned a free agent visit with the San Francisco 49ers on Friday.
A familiar face was in the Bay Area on Friday as Chris Conley made a visit in free agency to the San Francisco 49ers in an effort to try to extend his professional football career.
The former Chiefs wide receiver hasn’t had much public interest this spring to date, but the visit with the Niners is a good sign that he’s still on the radar for some teams even if he needs to remain patient.
Conley joined the Chiefs as a third-round pick by former general manager John Dorsey back in the 2015 NFL Draft, and he took some time to find his footing in the offense with only 199 yards during his rookie campaign. He made a solid leap the following year with 44 catches for 530 yards but an Achilles injury would rob him of any further momentum with the Chiefs.
Conley would go on to play for the Jacksonville Jaguars for two seasons following the close of his rookie contract with the Chiefs after four years. From there he spent a season with the Texans before splitting the 2022 campaign between the Texans, the Titans, and the Chiefs practice squad.
In his career, Conley has 217 catches for 2,853 yards and 15 touchdowns in his NFL career.
NFL reporter Field Yates also noted that free agent receiver Laquon Treadwell was also scheduled to visit the Niners as well.
