Keep up with the latest rumors for the Kansas City Chiefs as the 2023 NFL Draft approaches with our live tracker.

Few sporting events come with the sort of rumor mill and smokescreen usage as the annual NFL Draft, a three-day event filled with intrigue as to what 32 different teams might do with approximately 250 college prospects over the course of seven rounds (and a frenzy of free agent signings thereafter).

It can be maddening to figure out what the Kansas City Chiefs (or any other team) might do in the weeks and months leading up to the draft and this year is no different. Agents leak news about a player signaling a rise in stock. Teams leak interest (or a lack thereof) in players hoping to alter perception around teams with less certain draft boards.

Of course, the deception begins far before the draft as teams engage in rumors and anti-rumors, we’ll call them, in order to throw reporters off the scent of real interest. Some teams even use some of their allotted 30 pre-draft visits to showcase fake interest in a player in order to keep other teams from thinking they might actually take someone else.

The worst rumors will come in the days before the draft, as the event in Kansas City looms closer, in order to really rock the boat for some teams. That’s when we’ll hear about last-minute medical concerns for a player that seem out of the blue. Some previously unannounced legal issues or character concerns always creep up as well. Some teams hope to force a player’s stock to fall to more reasonable levels for their specific picks with such moves.

So when it comes to the Kansas City Chiefs, what should we know at this point? What can we trust? Let’s take a look at the latest rumors. Make sure to bookmark this page or visit it often for the latest draft rumors as we hear them!

4/24 – Chiefs linked with Jahmyr Gibbs

Would the Chiefs really roll with another running back in the first round after the Clyde Edwards-Helaire debacle? It’d be a tough pill for a lot of the Kingdom to swallow but Albert Breer has word that the Chiefs like the idea.

4/13 – Chiefs predicted to trade up

The latest rumors from ESPN have an unnamed NFC executive convinced the Chiefs are prepared to trade up for a “marquee player.” The Chiefs did this last year to move into range to take a player to whom they’d applied a first-round grade with Trent McDuffie. This year, names like defensive tackle Mazi Smith, wide receiver Quentin Johnston, and edge rusher Felix Anudike-Uzomah were all mentioned as possibilities. Note: the Chiefs already had official visits with the first two prospects.
