The Kansas City Chiefs are reportedly going to visit with Jason Taylor II, who led the Big 12 in interceptions.

As the Kansas City Chiefs continue to visit with various prospects leading up to the 2023 NFL Draft, they’re targeting some of their efforts on the secondary. The latest visit to take place sometime soon is reportedly going to be with Jason Taylor II, according to NFL reporter Aaron Wilson.

Taylor is a safety out of Oklahoma State who set high marks in the Big 12 last season in both interceptions (6) and solo tackles (80) last season—good for fourth in FBS. He finished with 99 total tackles on the year and another 7 passes deflected.

According to Wilson, the Chiefs are not alone in their pre-draft interest in Taylor. The safety has already met with the Houston Texans, Las Vegas Raiders, Philadelphia Eagles, and New York Jets with another meeting coming with the New Orleans Saints.

Taylor profiles as a day three selection per most draft evaluators and it could be interesting to see what the Chiefs do there. At this point, they already have a nice core quartet of players at the position with Justin Reid as the holdover starter from last year to go with last year’s second-round pick Bryan Cook and new free agent signing Mike Edwards, who enjoyed a breakout season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers a year ago. The Chiefs also re-signed Deon Bush to serve as their fourth safety and core special teams player.
